How It Works

The calculator performs a two-step conversion. First, it converts your volume measure into grams using the density of the selected cream type — heavy cream is slightly less dense than water, while half & half is a touch heavier. Then it applies the potassium value for that cream expressed per 100 g:

Potassium (mg) = weight in grams × potassium per 100 g ÷ 100

For example, one tablespoon of heavy cream weighs about 15 g. Multiplying 15 g by 95 mg per 100 g and dividing by 100 gives roughly 14 mg of potassium. The Daily Value percentage is then calculated against the FDA adult reference of 4,700 mg per day, so that 14 mg serving represents about 0.3% of the daily target.
